A major supplier of airplane parts for commercial, private and government sectors suffered a devastating fire that destroyed one of its manufacturing plants in Port Hueneme, Calif. Three-quarters of the 9,000-square-foot roof structure was destroyed along with the offices, production area and a portion of the shell room.
ATI was contracted to remove the collapsed roof structure, fire-damaged debris, equipment and machinery, and temporarily shore the existing block walls. The scope of work not only included cleanup but also reconstruction. The crew also restored power and temporary services to the attached foundry area so the company could continue production during the restoration process.
Working closely with the client, ATI minimized the supplier’s down time. It remained operational during the majority of repairs, shutting down for only short periods to enable necessary work. Successful completion of the job in a timely manner resulted in an extremely satisfied client.
